New Lift Solutions Health and Safety Policy
Policy Statement
At New Lift Solutions, the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, clients, contractors, and visitors are of paramount importance. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment and ensuring that our operations do not adversely affect the health and safety of others. This policy complies with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and other relevant UK legislation.
Objectives
- To comply with all relevant health and safety legislation and regulations in the UK.
- To identify, assess, and manage risks to health and safety.
- To promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive risk management.
- To provide appropriate health and safety training and resources.
- To continually improve our health and safety performance through regular monitoring and review.
Responsibilities
Management Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all UK health and safety legislation and standards, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
- Provide adequate resources, information, and training to support health and safety initiatives.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and consultation processes regarding health and safety.
- Conduct regular health and safety audits and risk assessments.
- Implement appropriate measures to control identified risks.
- Investigate all incidents and accidents to prevent recurrence.
Employee Responsibilities:
- Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others.
- Follow all health and safety policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Report any hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions to their supervisor immediately.
- Participate in health and safety training and initiatives.
- Use personal protective equipment and safety devices as required.
Contractor and Visitor Responsibilities:
- Comply with New Lift Solutions’ health and safety policies and procedures.
- Follow instructions given by New Lift Solutions’ representatives regarding health and safety.
- Report any hazards or unsafe conditions they observe.
Health and Safety Procedures
- Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct regular risk assessments for all activities and processes, following guidelines from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
- Implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Review and update risk assessments periodically and after any significant changes.
- Training and Awareness: Provide comprehensive health and safety training for all employees in line with UK regulations.
- Ensure that employees are aware of and understand health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct refresher training as necessary.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation: Establish a clear procedure for reporting health and safety incidents, in accordance with RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations).
- Investigate all reported incidents promptly to determine causes and prevent recurrence.
- Maintain records of all incidents, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans for potential health and safety incidents.
- Conduct regular emergency drills and training for employees.
- Ensure that emergency equipment and resources are readily available and maintained.
- Health and Safety Communication: Foster open communication regarding health and safety matters.
- Provide regular updates and information on health and safety issues.
- Encourage feedback and suggestions for improving health and safety practices.
Review and Continuous Improvement
New Lift Solutions is committed to the continuous improvement of our health and safety performance. This policy will be reviewed annually, or more frequently, if necessary, to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Feedback from employees, contractors, and other stakeholders will be actively sought and considered in the review process.
Approval
This health and safety policy is endorsed by the senior management of New Lift Solutions and is effective from 23/07/2024.
