Policy Statement

New Lift Solutions is committed to reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to global efforts to combat climate change. We recognise the importance of sustainable business practices and are dedicated to implementing strategies that minimise our environmental impact and promote energy efficiency.

Objectives

  1. To comply with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations in the UK.
  2. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions and our overall carbon footprint.
  3. To promote energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources.
  4. To engage employees, suppliers, and stakeholders in carbon reduction initiatives.
  5. To continually improve our environmental performance through regular monitoring and review.

Commitments

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Regularly review and update our carbon reduction policies and practices to reflect changes in legislation and industry best practices.
  • Energy Efficiency: Implement measures to reduce energy consumption across all operations, including the use of energy-efficient technologies and practices.
  • Conduct regular energy audits to identify areas for improvement and implement energy-saving initiatives.
  • Promote energy conservation and encourage responsible energy use among employees.
  • Renewable Energy: Increase the use of renewable energy sources within our operations where feasible.
  • Explore opportunities for on-site renewable energy generation, such as solar panels or wind turbines.
  • Purchase green energy from certified renewable energy suppliers.
  • Waste Reduction and Recycling: Minimise waste production through efficient resource use and waste management practices.
  • Implement robust recycling programmes to divert waste from landfill and promote the use of recycled materials.
  • Encourage the reduction, reuse, and recycling of materials in all business activities.
  • Sustainable Transportation: Promote the use of sustainable transportation options, such as public transport, carpooling, and cycling, for employees.
  • Implement policies to reduce the carbon footprint of our company vehicles, including the use of low-emission or electric vehicles.
  • Encourage virtual meetings and remote working to reduce travel-related emissions.
  • Supply Chain Management: Work with suppliers and partners to promote sustainable practices and reduce carbon emissions throughout the supply chain.
  • Incorporate environmental criteria into procurement processes and prioritise suppliers with strong environmental credentials.
  • Encourage suppliers to adopt carbon reduction measures and share best practices.
  • Employee Engagement and Training: Provide training and resources to employees to raise awareness of carbon reduction and sustainability practices.
  • Encourage employee involvement in carbon reduction initiatives and reward contributions to environmental improvements.
  • Foster a culture of sustainability within the organisation.

Implementation

  • Management Responsibility: Senior management is responsible for the implementation and effectiveness of this carbon reduction plan.
  • Allocate appropriate resources to support carbon reduction initiatives and compliance.
  • Employee Responsibility: Employees are expected to adhere to this policy and actively participate in carbon reduction efforts.
  • Report any suggestions for improving our carbon reduction practices to their supervisor or the designated sustainability officer.
  • Sustainability Officer: A designated sustainability officer will oversee the implementation of this plan, provide guidance, and address any concerns or reports related to carbon reduction.

Monitoring and Review

New Lift Solutions is committed to the continuous improvement of our carbon reduction measures. This plan will be reviewed annually, or more frequently if necessary, to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Feedback from employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders will be actively sought and considered in the review process.

Approval

This carbon reduction plan is endorsed by the senior management of New Lift Solutions and is effective from 26/07/2024.
